CHICAGO - Doctors heading to Washington to urge single-payer health care reform are staging a stopover rally in Chicago.

The group called "Mad as Hell Doctors" is traveling across the country to promote their cause. The

Dr. Quentin Young, a leading vocal advocate of single-payer health care, says the doctors are evidence of growing support for that concept. The retired Chicago-based doctor is national coordinator for the group Physicians for National Health Program. The traveling doctors are members of that group.

Their road trip began in
Oregon and ends September 30th in Washington. They want Congress to put a single-payer plan on the table.
